  • Behind the Flowers

Hi! I’m Laura! I’ve had my own wedding floral business for five years now and have enjoyed every minute of this journey.

My passion is to create beautiful and unique floral designs for your wedding day, customized to your wants and desires. I love to use many different types of flowers but don’t be surprised if you see one of a kind elements like branches, rhinestones, fruit, succulents, whimsical greenery or other fun accessories thrown into the mix. An all flower arrangement like a dozen roses or bouquet of calla lilies is also beautiful but when possible, incorporating uniqueness and style is my vision

White Rustic Wedding with hints of Peach & Coral

A big CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. & Mrs. Statz! I was so excited to work with this bride. She couldn’t be more beautiful inside and out!

Her wedding was so much fun and I enjoyed her creativity and style. She chose a mostly white and green wedding ceremony with hints of peach throughout the reception. I would say this wedding was pretty rustic and outdoorsy. If you’re looking for a venue like this, Pomeroy Farm is it!

Thank you to Joe and Jen Photography for these gorgeous photos!Statz-158

Wedding Season Update 2015

Hey All!

I haven’t been able to update my blog for awhile. It’s been a busy season to say the least. As my daughter is in bed for the night and my husband is guiding fishing trips at buoy 10, I have a spare minute to reflect on the season so far.

I’ve had the pleasure of being booked solid EVERY weekend this summer (last summer I was on maternity leave for part of the time). Now I have a one year old!!! I’m so thankful for the business and I’m having the best time designing wedding flowers for so many amazing couples.

Last weekend I got to be a part of two of my favorite friend’s big day AND design their wedding flowers. What an honor and BUSY time 😉

This weekend I’m working on a wedding up at Anderson Lodge! It’s a beautiful place just out of Woodland, WA if you’re looking for a venue with a great view. Shades of purple, sage greens, and silver greys are on the agenda!

I’ll leave you with these beautiful images from a wedding back in the spring from Red Letter Days Photography. I love it when photographers are gracious enough to share these with me. Hydrangeas were the main attraction here! Thank you for the professional photos and congratulations for the new couple!

Cinderella Inspired Wedding

It’s such on honor to be featured in and on the cover of LaFleur Magazine this month!  I had an amazing time working with everyone on this magical photoshoot! Thank you!

These bouquets were inspired by a modern day Cinderella theme. Light pinks, creams, and blues were the highlights of the bouquet. This first design is a little more elegant and sophisticated to fit a princess bride. The finishing touches were the pearl strands that draped the stems of this bouquet.

These next designs were created to fit an outdoor, woodsy, forest wedding. They were meant to add a bit of twist on the Cinderella theme and fit any occasion.

I loved creating this floral table runner! How fun is this?!

There’s something so magical about an outdoor woodsy setting. Loving this table! By the way, The Empress Wedding Estate in Woodland, WA is to die for!

Red Barn Wedding

Red Barn Studios has quite an amazing wedding venue. If you haven’t been there before, you need to check this place out. It’s in Chehalis, WA, about an hour drive from Vancouver, WA. I designed flowers for a wedding there and when I went to deliver them, I was in awe! What a beautiful place.

Here is a glimpse of the special day!

Beautiful Wedding photography provided by Lemondrops Photography!

I had so much fun working with Chelsea! This was one relaxed and easy going bride! Thank you Travis & Chelsea for allowing me to be your wedding florist.

The bridal bouquet consisted of bright, cheery colors with a burlap and grey wrap. I incorporated raspberry roses, purple statice, stock, and freesia, with yellow billy balls, orange alstromeria, and orange tulips. Dusty miller cozied the flowers flowers altogether.

Willow Wedding

Here’s a look at a country wedding I designed this summer at the Willow Lakes Estate venue.

The blushing bride wanted an all white theme with multiple types of flowers. I used hydrangeas, babies breath, dahlias, and astilbe. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of all one type of various flowers while the bride had an assorted bouquet.

Thank you to Alex Maier Photography!

Wedding Season Update

I’m right in the middle of wedding season and wanted to update you all on what’s been happening around here!:)

I’m back from maternity leave as of this month. I delivered a beautiful baby girl in June and have been enjoying every moment with her. Now that I’m getting adjusted to Mommy-hood I’m getting back into the swing of things. I’ve already done three weddings in the last two weeks that I’ve been back and have many more this summer. Its so nice to be around all these pretty flowers again and meeting with new brides and grooms.

If you’d like to get on my books for 2015 wedding season or even the end of this year, now is the time to do it. I’ve already begun meeting with new brides for next year. Fill out my contact form so we can chat and schedule a time to meet.

Hope you are enjoying summertime!

Laura:)

Woodsy Bridal Wedding Bouquet ~ Luscious Greenery

Floral Recipe = Orange spray roses + Purple Mums + Peach Carnations + Queen Ann's Lace + Green Fern

Carnations have gotten a bad rap as being a cheap flower and it seems to be a trend that brides are wanting to stay away from them. I’d just like to point out that peach carnations were added to this wedding bouquet and I think they add a beautiful softness to it. What do you think?

Champagne Wedding ~Derek & Kelsey~ Wedding Florist

Some beautiful friends of mine got married this July and I was honored to design their wedding flowers. Their colors were champagne, ivory, and a touch of pink. The wedding was gorgeous and it happened to be at the same vineyard my husband and I got married at four years ago!

It was a pleasure doing your wedding flowers Kelsey and Derek! Thank you for the opportunity.

All Photos are courtesy of Cheryl Boatman Photography

If you haven’t checked out Cheryl’s work before, her photos are amazing! Click the link above to go to her website and oooh and ahhh:)

Thank you Cheryl for the lovely photos!

The bridal bouquet was white calla lilies, white hydrangeas, champagne roses, seeded eucalyptus, white spray  roses, and to make it unique to the bride I added in a single light pink lily.

The bridesmaids helps bouquets similar to the brides yet a little smaller with no pink accents.

Don’t you love this shot of the bouquets on the bed? Great job Cheryl, LOVE your creativity!

I’ll leave you with a picture of me and my wonderful assistant (also named Laura) arranging centerpieces before the wedding. This girl was so much help to me! Thank you again Laura!

Camellia Boho Floral Crown

At the beginning of the month I had the pleasure of designing a floral crown for a maternity session done by Chelsea Atkins Photography. By the way, if you are looking for a photographer check out her site! She specializes in senior photos and is amazing at it! She also has her own hair/makeup professional who is this beautiful lady below.

The floral crown was made of a few different flowers but the main attraction is the Camellia flower. Charissa will be naming her daughter Camellia and wanted the crown to focus on the flower. Beautiful name! Thank you Charissa for asking me to do this special arrangement for you!

I was very excited to do this arrangement and would love to share some photos. Thank you Chelsea!!!:)

A Fall Wedding ~Shanna & Bass~

I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to blog lately but one of my past bride’s just sent me her wedding photos and I’d love to share them with you!

Shanna and Bass had a fall wedding on a gorgeous September day. They chose fall flowers such as Dahlias and I accented them with hypericum berries, proteas, and calla lilies. Their wedding was held in the Columbia River Gorge at a beautiful venue.

Here is a photo of Shanna’s bridal bouquet with red and orange dahlias, hypericum berries, and calla lilies.

This is a shot of the couple’s cake table with a wood cookie cake stand. I loved all of their little details. A lot of thought was put in to everything.
